JSFL (Java Script Flash Extensibility), this can be useful to extend on the tooling capabilities in flash.

You would require Macromedia Extension Manager to install this plug-in.
It can be freely available here.

This extension can be used to trace multiple bitmap frames in flash to vectors

Below is the description on how to use it.

Import Sequenced Images in any format, Select the multiple bitmap frames and run the flash custom action method by selecting Commands > TraceBitmap (MultiFrames).

This can be used to make a 2D cartoon/Vector effect, like the sample below.

(shot from a web camera, it took around 10 min to make this)

Please mail me at varunet(at)gmail.com, if you have any Questions, Comments and Bugs to be reported… ;)

Import a Video in Adobe After Effects Composition and select the command Filters > Adjust > Threshold to convert the video in dual tone.
Then export the composition as sequenced JPEG, BMP or any image format that we can use later to import in flash.
Import the Image Sequence in Flash and select the images and run the trace bitmap multi frames method by selecting Commands > TraceBitmap (MultiFrames).

This would convert the selected video sequence into vectors or as per your selection.
