Trigonometry in Flash - Using sin & asin to find angles and radians
You Would need Flash 9 or above player to view this content. Please download the latest player from here to View this.
Basic trigonometry functions.
sine of angle = opposite / hypotenuse
cosine of angle = adjacent / hypotenuse
tangent of angle = opposite / adjacent
Conversion between radians and degrees
radians = degrees * Math.PI / 180
degrees = radians * 180 / Math.PI
Pythagorean Theorem
Ab squared + BC squared = CA squared
CA = Math.sqrt(Ab squared + BC squared)
CA = Math.sqrt((Ab*AB)+ (BC*BC))
Sine, Cosine and Tangent
You feed in a angle and it would result in a ratio
Arcsine, Arccosine and Arctangent
You feed in a ratio and it would result in a angle
Additional Notes:
Math.PI = 3.1416 = 180 Deg.
Circle = 2*Math.PI = 6.2832 Radians
