This is something I always wanted to try out. It took me 2 weeks of book reading to learn PHP and MySQL and bang..!! this is the first experiment I wanted to work on using Flash, PHP and SQL.

Description:
1. The client recieves the PDF softcopy of the magazine from the print agency.
2. He extracts the pages and uses a Windows Scripting Host file to convert them into FlashPaper files.
3. The converted files are renamed in an order required for the eMagazine, this renaming is done using a tool which is made in MicroSoft Visual Basic.
4. Once renamed the files are ready to go online. The admin module made in DotNet & Flash 8 upload api's are used to upload the files online and to generate XML's for the brochure dynamically.
5. The table of contents for the magazine is populated from the admin module and once completed the magazine can be previewed.

Table of Contents list (or the table of contents from the brochure will be used)
Development:
Converting the pdf pages into flash paper format, renaming them and uploading the files online.

The flash brochure is an MphasiS Product.
The flash brochure's concept, architecture, design & development is done by me.

The following tools were made in the flash.

Description:
The flash brochure is XML based and each page are made manually in Flash. The soft copy of the brochure are recieved from the print agency. Any of the Adobe Acrobat(PDF), Quark Xpress or EPS format are useful enough to generate the brochure. The shell of the flash brochure is customisable through XML.

Details:
1. Page Navigation

Back/Next buttons as well as roll over on page edges

2. Zoom/Text Selection Mode

Clicking on the zoom button would open up a tool bar which would have the Zoom In, Zoom Out, Pan and Text Select Functionality.

3. Quick Navigation

Clicking on Quick Navigation would open up a panel with page thumbnails of important pages. e.g. The front cover page, The table of contents page etc.

4. Save Brochure

Clicking on Save button would save all the pages of the brochure in the browser cache. Details of instructions are desplayed while saving the brochure. The progress bar displays the pages saved in the cache.
Once the pages are saved, it auto adds the pages into the browser favorites section.

5. Print Page

Clicking on Print on a two page layout view would ask you to select the page to print. Only one page can be printed at a time. On a single page view the print button would directly print the page.

6. Double Page/Single Page Layout
You can toggle between single page or double page layout.

7. Page Navigation through input
You can jump to any particular page using the page input field and clicking on the "GO" button.

8. Table of Contents

The table of contents is populated using XML. This is used to navigate to respective categories. The table of contents also acts as an header for the page. If you navigate to any page using other navigation tools, its respective category title will be auto displayed on the table of contents page.

Softcopy of the brochure either in PDF, Quark Xpress or EPS format.
Table of Contents list (or the table of contents from the brochure will be used)
Development:
Generating the pages and customising the shell for the brochure

Flash Feedback Form - www.etihadairways.com

This Flash Feedback Form is a MphasiS Product.
The feedback form design is made by Abhijeet Karnik and the flash development is done by me.

Description:
The feedback form menu is generated from a array list which can be edited and populated by ease. The data is captured from an object and once submitted, it converts the object into an delimited string and sends the data to the webservice. The webservice returns a data sent or an error value to confirm the feedback transmission.

Flash Route Map - www.etihadairways.com

This route map is an MphasiS Product.
The design is made by Abhijeet Karnik and the flash development is done by me.

Description:
The routemap is used to show flights from an origin to its destination , hops to its destination and the details of the flight.
These details are fetched from a webservice. The lines drawn from a particular orign to destination is drawn mathematically. This reduces the effort of updating a flash on rescheduling the flights.
